Visit to Kwame Nkrumah National Park and Museum

We had a wonderful guided tour of Kwame Nkrumah National Park and Museum on Saturday January 5th. Kwame Nkrumah was the first president of Ghana, and he was instrumental in the declaration of independence from colonial rule. It was a beautiful tribute, and had many interesting facts in the museum, but we were not allowed to take pictures inside. His body is laid to rest inside the large monument that is said to be shaped like the bottom of a tree where men can rest, and the sides of which are shaped like a machete according to our guide.
